About Union Drilling    Who We Are, What We Do

Union Drilling provides contract land drilling services in the domestic market to customers that are primarily engaged in natural gas exploration and production. The markets that we serve, the Appalachian Basin, the Arkoma Basin, and The Fort Worth Basin, are similar in that they have unconventional natural gas bearing formations. Natural gas production from unconventional formations, including tight sands, shales and coalbed methane, is both the largest and fastest growing component of U.S. natural gas production. Most of our fleet of 71 marketed drilling rigs is specially equipped for this type of work, which often requires air circulation systems for penetrating through hard rock and enhanced fluid circulation systems for drilling horizontally into natural gas bearing formations. Our strategy is to provide safe, high quality equipment for our employees and customers while remaining disciplined in the use of capital for growth.
